Oven Baked Macaroni and Cheese (with GF option)
If you’ve followed this blog for awhile or checked out my Instagram (@Tiff.Kent) you know that normally, I’m all about being healthy… but on *some* rare occasions, I think a little comfort food is good for the soul! This Baked Macaroni and Cheese is for those occasions, when comfort food is what you need!
This post is sponsored by Standard TV & Appliance. I baked this recipe in my Wolf oven, which my husband and I purchased from Standard! We went to Standard because they’ve been a staple in the Portland area since 1947.
What You’ll Need:
1 (12 oz) package of macaroni – or sub gluten-free macaroni if you prefer
2 cups milk
2 tbsp. grass-fed butter – melted
1 ½ c shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 ½ c shredded cheddar cheese
½ c. parmesan cheese
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. dry mustard (or more, if desired)
½ tsp. smoked paprika
¼ tsp. cayenne pepper
Preheat the oven to 350-degrees F. Grease or spray a 2-quart baking dish.
In a large pot of water, boil macaroni noodles for about five minutes (or until cooked halfway to “al dente”).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg, milk, melted grass-fed butter, shredded cheese, salt, pepper, mustard, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Place the semi-cooked macaroni into the prepared baking dish and spread the cheese-liquid mixture over the macaroni. Sprinkle with additional cheese (or breadcrumbs) if desired.
Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes, or until the top has a crispy golden brown layer. Enjoy!
